abstract |
A flame-retardant composition useful for insulating and protecting electric cables and optical fibers and for molding electrical equipment cases and connectors. The flame-retardant composition comprising (1) and (2) (100 parts by weight in total): (1) Mixture of polyamide (A) and polyolefin (B): 50 to 75 parts by weight, (2) the following mixture: 25 to 50 parts by weight (total of three components): Flame retardant: 0.1 to 48.4 parts by weight, Phosphorus-containing plasticizer: 0.1 to 30 parts by weight, Zeolite: 0.1 to 10 parts by weight. It is classified as V0 or V1 in the UL94-VB test (a 1.6 mm thick test piece). The elongation at break is 250-400% (measured according to ISO R 527-1B standard). No brittleness is seen in the multiaxial impact test at room temperature (ISO 6603-2, 7.7 m / s). Maintains at least 50% of mechanical properties after aging in hot air at 120 ° C. for 7 days.
