abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a novel therapeutic or preventive agent for liver disease that exhibits excellent effects in treating liver diseases such as acute hepatitis and fulminant hepatitis. The present invention provides a therapeutic or preventive drug for liver disease, comprising an oncostatin M receptor agonist as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, there is provided a novel therapeutic or prophylactic agent for liver disease which exhibits excellent effects in treating liver diseases such as acute hepatitis and fulminant hepatitis. As is clear from the above Examples, the therapeutic or prophylactic agent for liver disease of the present invention can reduce hepatocellular necrosis, reduce tissue destruction of liver, reduce serum liver injury markers, etc. It is effective for the treatment and prevention of various liver diseases such as acute hepatitis and fulminant hepatitis, which involve hepatocellular necrosis or liver tissue destruction.
