abstract | To improve the optical durability of an iodine-based polarizing plate in which a protective film is bonded to a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin film in which iodine is adsorbed and oriented, and to provide a method for producing the iodine-based polarizing plate. Kind Code: A1 A polarizing plate comprising a protective film bonded to a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin film on which iodine is adsorbed and oriented via a transparent adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive layer comprises a hydroxycarboxylic acid such as lactic acid and the like. containing hydroxy carboxylic acid-based compound selected from derivatives thereof, iodine based polarizing plate amount of hydroxycarboxylic acid compounds occupying in the entire polarizing plate is 5~9,000mg per polarizer 1 m 2 is provided. The amount of the hydroxycarboxylic acid-based compound is 2 to 97% by weight based on the weight of the adhesive layer. There is also provided a method for producing an iodine-based polarizing plate using a transparent adhesive containing from 2 to 97% by weight of a hydroxycarboxylic acid-based compound based on the total solid content of the adhesive.
