(57) [Summary] Optical quality plastic parts are manufactured by forming a PET polarizing film (56) into a desired contour and incorporating this film (56) into the plastic part. This film (56) is placed in the heated lower mold (52) and pressure is applied to make the film (56) conform to the surface of the lower mold (52). Thereafter, the film (56) is cooled under pressure before being incorporated into a plastic part. The film (56) is formed to meet the optical requirements of the plastic part without jeopardizing its optical, mechanical or surface properties. |
