titleOfInvention | Diesel fuel composition |
abstract | (57) [Summary] The present invention relates to (A) a. No more than 50 ppm by weight sulfur, b. Not more than 10% by weight of an olefin, and c. A major amount of base fuel containing up to 10% by weight of ester; and (B) a primary, secondary or tertiary aliphatic saturated monohydric alcohol having an average of 4 to 20 carbon atoms, or Mixtures thereof, from one or more monoketones or polyketones having an average of 5 to 25 carbons, or keto-monohydric aliphatic alcohols, and mixtures of said alcohol (s) and ketone (s) A fuel composition comprising an oxygenate selected from the group consisting of: an amount of the oxygenate of at least 1% by weight, based on the total fuel composition, wherein the oxygenate adds another oxygen in its structure. Ultra low sulfur fuel compositions that do not contain. These particular oxygenates further reduce particulate emissions from the exhaust gases of engines driven by ultra-low sulfur diesel fuels, which are already known to have low particulate emissions. These oxygenates can exhibit superior performance with respect to particulate emissions over previously used oxygenates over a wide range of vehicles and driving cycles. |
