Each haptic element is manufactured to have an inner portion and an outer free end portion for supporting the optic in the patient's eye. The inner part of each haptic element is preferably permanently joined to the outer peripheral edge of the optic. Each haptic element also includes an opening through a fixed clamp to be attached or a fixed clip to be connected.
