abstract A pant-type prefastened refastenable disposable absorbent article includes a pair of fasteners forming a refastenable side seam and at least one waist size adjustment means. The pre-fastened absorbent article forms a pair of laterally opposed side edges and a pair of longitudinally opposed waist edges. The fastener is permanently attached to the side edge of one waist edge and engages the side edge of the opposite waist edge to form a pre-fastened waist opening of the absorbent article and a pair of leg openings. Forming a refastenable side seam. The fastener is further formed to provide waist size adjustment means. The waist size adjusting means is configured to allow the wearer or caregiver to detachably engage the waist size adjusting means with the outer surface of the pre-fastened absorbent article after the absorbent article has been worn on the wearer. The waist circumference of the pre-fastened absorbent article is reduced or increased to allow the article to conform to the wearer's body.
