(57) [Summary]nIdentify mammals that have or are at risk of developing ischemia-reperfusion in non-pulmonary tissue and to cause an inflammatory process at the site of ischemia-reperfusion or inflammation in non-pulmonary tissue Cause the mammal to inhale a therapeutically effective amount of gaseous nitric oxide sufficient to reduce the likelihood of activation of leukocytes or platelets in the manner, thereby causing non-pulmonary ischemia-relapse in the mammal. Disclosed are methods for reducing or preventing non-pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion injury or inflammation in a mammal by reducing or preventing perfusion injury. |
