Amphiphilic macrocyclic derivatives and their analogs |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nA soluble amphiphilic macrocycle analog having a lipophilic group attached to one side of the unit forming the macrocycle and a hydrophilic group attached to the other side. These amphiphilic macrocyclic derivatives exhibit the ability to self-assemble to form micelles or vesicles in aqueous solvents and can be used as hosts for solubilizing and / or stabilizing various compounds. Embodiments of the present invention utilize macrocyclic oligosaccharides, and preferably utilize cyclodextrin as the modified macrocyclic derivative. |
