abstract |
(57) Abstract. Fluid matrices containing remodelable crosslinked collagen from donor vertebrates are useful in vivo to regenerate the fluid lubricating function of damaged discs. The matrix is injectable and can contain cells and a plurality of purified cell growth factors. The matrix enhances cell growth and proteoglycan synthesis to promote natural tissue regeneration. The collagen in the matrix is cross-linked using a photooxidation catalytic reaction and visible light, and the purified cell growth factor is preferably at least partially derived from bone. |
