(57) [Summary]nIntrapulmonary delivery of testosterone increases libido in adult female patients. The testosterone formulation is aerosolized and inhaled into the patient's lungs where the testosterone particles adhere to the lung tissue before entering the patient's circulatory system. The patient's testosterone level rises well above the baseline level in a short period of time and then returns to baseline levels via normal metabolism, thereby increasing libido without the undesired effects of long-term rise in testosterone levels Has the desired short-term effect on Other formulations are also provided, including formulations for aerosol delivery of sildenafil citrate to be delivered to male or female patients. |
