titleOfInvention Modular healthcare information management system using reusable software objects
abstract (57) [Summary] A healthcare information management system using modular, user-configurable, reusable software objects. The system allows a user to create software objects that represent events that occur during the provision of health care to patients and resources used. Using the user-configured software module, the user can track the provision of health care, resource utilization during the provision, allocation of resources to medical procedures, and identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of providing health care services. Users can create, manage, and maintain software modules that represent procedural pathways performed in healthcare facilities. Users create modules using user-configurable software objects that represent containers, resources, and data. This object is modular and reusable, and the components for creating the module are user selectable. The module is used to provide information management related to the provision of the medical procedure represented by the procedure pathway module.
