titleOfInvention Exhaust gas purification device for internal combustion engine
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To purify pollutants contained in exhaust gas by simultaneously performing two reactions of oxidation and reduction at low and high temperatures. An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for an internal combustion engine for purifying exhaust gas by providing a reaction furnace for reducing harmful substances of exhaust gas in an exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine, comprising a plurality of carrier cells having a photocatalyst layer coated on the surface. A reactor having a honeycomb carrier provided inside the reactor and plasma generating means attached to the inner end and the outer end of the honeycomb carrier having a plurality of electrode cells. The honeycomb carrier is coated with a three-way catalyst layer on the wall of the carrier cell, and a photocatalyst layer activated by a plasma light source is coated on the three-way catalyst layer, and the electrode cells are changed according to changes in the size and number of the carrier cells. It is preferable that the number of carrier cells be 100 to 900 per unit area (1 inch × 1 inch).
