(57) Abstract: A method for producing methionine, comprising: (a) titanium, having a porosity of 5 to 1000 nm, a total pore volume of 0.2 to 0.55 cm 3 / g, and a surface area of Hydrolyzing methionine amide to form methionine ammonium in the presence of a catalyst wherein is from 30 to 150 m 2 / g; and (b) recovering methionine by removing ammonia from the methionine ammonium salt.
