titleOfInvention | Phosphate conversion coating method and composition |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nBy including nitric acid and hydroxylamine in the manganese phosphate composition and controlling the ratio of nitric acid to phosphoric acid and the ratio of total acid to free acid within a specified range, other metal cations can be obtained in a reasonable time. Satisfactory manganese phosphate conversion coatings can be obtained at much lower temperatures than previously thought necessary to treat with a manganese phosphate composition containing as little as possible iron. |
