(57) [Summary]nA novel hydraulic cement is disclosed and includes a reactive magnesium oxide prepared by low temperature calcination. The cement can be formulated to be compatible with a number of applications and can be mixed with an iron salt such as ferrous sulfate or with other compatible relatively fast setting cements such as Portland cement. By having or using both methods, they have different setting times, strengths and persistence levels. The composition may incorporate relatively large amounts of low cost pozzolans, such as fly ash, advantageously waste. Many excellent properties are shown, and particularly good overall strength and sulfate tolerance can be obtained. |
