titleOfInvention Electrophoresis apparatus and method using the apparatus
abstract (57) Abstract: An apparatus for rehydrating a gel strip to perform electrophoresis, comprising a tray formed with a plurality of parallel troughs configured to receive the gel strip. In each trough, a rehydration region located at the center and electrode regions located on both sides of the electrode region are defined. The end wall defines a boundary between the rehydration region of the trough and the electrode region. The electrode means comprises a conductive or conductive electrode in contact with the gel strip in the electrode area near the first and second ends of the gel or in contact with the gel strip in the electrode area. A contact is provided for contacting the bridge material. The electrode means is adapted to be connected to means for supplying a current for applying a potential to the strip between the electrodes.
