titleOfInvention Endotracheal tube resistant to bite
abstract (57) [Summary] The present invention relates to a method for crushing or rupture of an endotracheal tube, even if at least a portion of the body of the endotracheal tube that comes into contact with a patient's teeth which has been orally intubated is strongly bitten by clenched teeth. Or, it relates to an endotracheal tube having an integral bite protector made of a polymer material having sufficient rigidity that does not cause permanent deformation. The present invention also provides that the bite-resistant portion is primarily reinforced or unreinforced, primarily by a fiber reinforced material, rather than by a metal or similar stiffening material, which may cause trauma to the mouth. Bite-resistant endotracheal tube made of such a polymer material. In addition, the bite-resistant endotracheal tube of the present invention allows for the tearing of extra tubing extending from the intubated patient's mouth, thereby reducing dead space and maximizing patient ventilation. It has a proximal end or a mechanical end made of a polymer material that can be used.
