titleOfInvention Systems and methods for performing magnetic chromatography measurements
abstract (57) [Summary]nNovel magnetic assay method and system. According to a preferred embodiment, a chromatographic medium (preferably a test strip) designed such that the test solution flows on both sides across the chromatographic medium (preferably a test strip) in contact with the test solution having activated magnetic particles. Is provided. The magnetic field generated by the magnet or electromagnet is selectively applied to the medium such that the charged particles substantially couple to some point in the medium specified by the location of the magnet, so that a capture line or region is created. It is formed. In one preferred embodiment, the magnetic field is applied at a point on the medium where the test solution contacts. The degree of the magnetic field applied to the film can be selectively adjusted to change the width or surface area of the capture line or region.
