titleOfInvention Method for producing polyolefin products
abstract (57) [Summary]nA novel liquid phase polymerization process for producing a polyolefin product having preselected properties is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: preparing a liquid raw material containing an olefin component; Three And BF Three Providing a catalyst composition comprising a stable complex with a complexing agent for use. The raw materials are branched olefins such as isobutylene, C Three ~ C Fifteen Linear alpha olefin and C Four ~ C Fifteen Any of a number of olefins, including reactive non-alpha olefins, can include one or more. The feed and catalyst composition are introduced into the residual reaction mixture, and the residual reaction mixture is recirculated at a recirculation rate sufficient to cause intimate mixing of the residual reaction mixture, the added feed and the added catalyst composition. It is recycled in a loop reactor reaction zone provided on the tube side of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger. The heat of polymerization reaction is controlled by the recycle homogeneous mixture at a rate calculated to provide a substantially constant reaction temperature in the reaction mixture while recirculating the recycle homogeneous mixture reaction mixture within the reaction zone. Removed from the reaction mixture. The conditions in the reactor are suitable for polymerizing the olefin component introduced into the feedstock in the presence of the catalyst composition to produce a desired polyolefin product. A product stream containing the desired polyolefin product is withdrawn from the reaction zone. The introduction of the feedstock into the reaction zone and withdrawal of the product stream from the reaction zone is such that the residence time of the olefin component being polymerized in the reaction zone is appropriate for the production of the desired polyolefin product. It is controlled as it is.
