titleOfInvention Green blindfold glass
abstract (57) Summary The present invention provides a green colored infrared and ultraviolet absorbing glass article having a light transmittance of 60% or less. The composition of the glass article uses infrared, ultraviolet absorbing materials and iron, cobalt, selenium and chromium as coloring agents and optionally titanium in addition to the standard soda-lime-silica glass base composition. The glasses of the present invention have a dominant wavelength in the range of about 480-565 nm, preferably about 495-560 nm, and an excitation purity of about 20% or less, preferably about 10% or less, more preferably about 7% or less. Having a color characterized by: The glass composition may be provided with different levels of spectral performance depending on the specific application and the desired light transmission. In one embodiment of the present invention, the glass composition of the green colored, infrared and ultraviolet absorbing soda lime silica glass article comprises about 0.60-4% by weight total iron, about 0.13-0% by weight. .9 wt% of FeO, about 40~500ppm of CoO, Se about 5~70Ppm, about 15~800ppm of Cr 2 O 3, and from about 0.02 to 1 wt% of the solar radiation absorbing colorant comprising TiO 2 Includes parts. In another aspect of the invention, the glass composition of the article comprises essentially 1% to less than 1.4% by weight total iron, about 0.2 to 0.6% by weight FeO, greater than 200 ppm. CoO up to about 500 ppm, Se about 5~70Ppm, contains Cr 2 O 3, and 0 to about 1 wt% of the solar radiation absorbing colorant portion consisting TiO 2 from greater to about 800ppm than 200 ppm.
