(57) [Summary]nA novel gene that is highly overexpressed in prostate cancer (designated PC-LECTIN) is described. And the protein encoded by that gene is described. PC-LECTIN in normal human tissues is restricted to the testis. However, PC-LECTIN is highly expressed in prostate cancer. Consequently, PC-LECTIN provides a diagnostic target for prostate cancer and / or PC-LECTIN provides a therapeutic target for prostate cancer. |
