abstract (57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to a DNAzyme that specifically cleaves RelA (p65) mRNA, comprising: (i) a catalytic domain that cleaves mRNA at a purine: pyrimidine cleavage site; (ii) a 5 ′ end of the catalytic domain. And (iii) a second binding domain contiguous to the 3 'end of the catalytic domain, wherein the DNAzyme cleaves RelA (p65) mRNA. Thus, providing a DNAzyme that is sufficiently complementary to the two regions immediately adjacent to the purine: pyrimidine cleavage site in the region of RelA (p65) mRNA corresponding to nucleotides 1 to 1767 set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1. .
