(57) [Summary] A method for suppressing the expression of a selected gene in a eukaryotic cell, comprising the steps of: (a) binding of nucleic acid binding to a site on or associated with the selected gene; A method comprising introducing a polypeptide comprising a sex part, wherein said part is present in the eukaryotic genome and in the chromatin inactivation part, or (b) a polynucleotide encoding said polypeptide. The nucleic acid binding portion is a DNA binding portion or an RNA binding portion, and histone deacetylation is promoted by the chromatin inactivating portion. |
