titleOfInvention Method for defined rich / lean control of a combustion mixture by an electrochemical gas sensor
abstract (57) Abstract: A method for defined rich / lean control of a combustion mixture by an electrochemical gas sensor is proposed. The method enables the operation of a NO x -storage catalyst that stores excess NO x present in the exhaust gas in the storage stage, wherein the exhaustion of the storage capacity of the catalyst indicates that the NO x -in the exhaust gas. Recognition of the increase in concentration, which is determined in the subsequent regeneration step, converts the stored NO x using a rich exhaust gas mixture, the completion of the reaction being known from the lambda value of the exhaust gas after the catalyst be able to. The electrochemical gas sensor underlying the method for operation of the NO x -storage catalyst is selectively operated such that the NO x concentration and the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas are detected by the same gas sensor.
