titleOfInvention Method for periodically desulfurizing a nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide accumulator in an exhaust gas purification device
abstract (57) [Summary] 1. A method for periodically desulfurizing a nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide accumulator of an exhaust gas purification device. 2.1 The present invention is a method for periodically desulfurizing a nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide accumulator of an exhaust gas purifying device of an internal combustion engine, wherein a secondary air supply is supplied to the accumulator during each desulfurization period. The method relates to a method wherein secondary air is sent by means and an engine exhaust gas containing a reducing agent is supplied by setting a certain rich engine air ratio. 2.2 According to the present invention, after reaching a predetermined desulfurization temperature, at least during part of the desulfurization period, the accumulator air ratio is increased between the oxidizing or stoichiometric atmosphere and the reducing atmosphere. It is set by appropriately changing the secondary air amount and / or the engine air ratio. 2.3 For example, an application for periodically desulfurizing a nitrogen oxide adsorber or a sulfur oxide trap in an exhaust gas purification device for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle.
