abstract | [PROBLEMS] To provide a high-output positive electrode active material for an alkaline battery, a positive electrode, and an alkaline battery. SOLUTION: A coating layer in which silver oxide and cobalt oxide are mixed is formed on the surface of nickel hydroxide particles to form a positive electrode active material for an alkaline battery, and a positive electrode is formed using the positive electrode active material. Then, an alkaline battery is formed using the positive electrode. The above-mentioned positive electrode active material for an alkaline battery is obtained by mixing nickel hydroxide powder, silver compound powder, and cobalt compound powder, mixing the obtained mixed powder with an aqueous alkaline solution, and subjecting the obtained mixture to the presence of oxygen. It is preferable to manufacture by performing a heat treatment to form a coating layer in which silver oxide and cobalt oxide are mixed on the surface of the nickel hydroxide particles.In the coating layer, an alkali metal such as sodium or ytterbium, It is preferable to include a rare earth metal element such as yttrium and erbium. |
