[PROBLEMS] To recover uranium and transuranium elements from channel boxes and cladding tubes contaminated with uranium and transuranium elements and to recover zirconium with high purity. A coating tube and a coating hull 25 of a channel box contaminated with uranium (U) or transuranium element (TRU) are put into an anode basket 20 and immersed in a molten salt. As the molten salt, KCl-LiCl-ZrC having low solubility of UO 2 a l 2 mainly used. The cathode 19 performs molten salt electrolysis in the electrolytic cell 18 using iron or molybdenum. N which is a polluting nuclide b, Mo, Co are recovered at the first cathode. When Zr starts to precipitate, the second cathode is replaced with a second cathode, and metal Zr is deposited and recovered by the second cathode. In the case of adhering metal U or TRU, it remains in the molten salt, and in the case of oxide, it precipitates as a precipitate 28 on the bottom plate of the electrolytic cell 18 and is recovered. |
