abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a resin composition for a sliding member and a sliding member exhibiting excellent friction and wear characteristics when a soft metal such as an aluminum alloy is used as a mating material. SOLUTION: A polyethylene resin is 0.5 to 30% by weight, a hydrocarbon wax is 1 to 15% by weight, and a Mohs hardness is 2 to 4%. A resin composition for a sliding member, comprising 0.1 to 5% by weight of an inorganic whisker and a balance of a polyamide resin.
