abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress infectious growth of human immunodeficiency syndrome virus which infects immunocompetent cells such as T cells, macrophages or dendritic cells and causes destruction of the immune system. It is useful for the treatment of HIV-1 infected patients and additionally provides a human immunodeficiency syndrome virus infection and growth inhibitor which can be clinically used as an adjunct in HAART therapy. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a human immunodeficiency syndrome virus infection / proliferation inhibitor comprising, as an active ingredient, a macrolide derivative having an HIV-1 infection / proliferation inhibitory effect on human monocyte-derived M-type macrophages. |
