titleOfInvention Method for alleviating water repellency of acidic organic materials
abstract (57) [Summary] [Problem] To provide an organic material having excellent characteristics as a cultivation soil by simultaneously adjusting the pH of an acidic organic material such as peat moss and improving water repellency. SOLUTION: A water glass such as sodium silicate or potassium silicate is spray-added to the surface of an acidic organic material such as peat moss having water repellency and gelled on the surface of the organic material. The water glass may be a powder or an aqueous solution. By this treatment, the water repellency alleviating effect is maintained for a long period of time, and an organic material and cultivated soil excellent in water retention, air permeability, and water permeability can be provided.
