abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove toner on a recording paper transport belt without causing trouble in running of the recording paper transport belt, and to separate recording paper from the recording paper transport belt after image transfer is completed. Kind Code: A1 A recording medium is held between a belt driving roller disposed downstream of a photosensitive drum and a driven roller disposed upstream of the photosensitive drum, and is used to hold a recording sheet and convey the recording paper to the photosensitive member. A transfer roller 9 for transferring the toner image on the surface of the photosensitive drum to the recording paper held by the recording paper transfer belt 8 by applying a transfer bias; and a transfer bias opposite to the transfer bias. A belt driving roller bias unit for applying a polarity bias to the belt driving roller 10; and a cleaning roller disposed at a position facing the belt driving roller 10 in contact with the recording paper transport belt 8 and grounded to the ground. 22.
