abstract (57) [Problem] To provide an image display medium having a display layer containing a plurality of developing particles and a partition partitioning the display layer into a plurality, and capable of performing good color display. Provided is an image recording apparatus capable of recording an image on a color-displayable medium without displacement and displaying a color image in a desired color state on the medium. An image display medium MD1 includes substrates S1 and S2, a display layer DL1 formed between the substrates, and a color filter CF1 including red, green, and blue filter films Fr, Fg, and Fb. The display layer DL1 is divided into a plurality of partitions by the partition W1, and the width of the partition W1 is made smaller than the width of the filter film. An image recording apparatus that performs image recording by a recording head while moving the recording head relatively to a medium. The position of the filter film is detected by the optical sensor, and the position of the image recording position is adjusted.
