abstract | (57) [Summary] [Problem] To uniformly disperse clay in rubber by a simple method, A rubber composition having gas shielding properties is obtained. A rubber composition comprising clay treated with a water-soluble aminosilane-based coupling agent dispersed in rubber. A water-soluble aminosilane coupling agent is added to a clay immersed in water to obtain an aminosilane-treated clay, which is kneaded with rubber. The clay is preferably sodium-montmorillonite. The rubber is preferably any of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber, butyl rubber and styrene-ethylene butadiene-styrene rubber. The water-soluble aminosilane coupling agent is N-β (aminoethyl) γ-aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilane, N-β (Aminoethyl) γ-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, N-β (aminoethyl) γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, γ-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, and γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. |
