abstract (57) [Abstract] (with correction) [Problem] To provide glucuronic acid of glycosaminoglycan with N- An enzyme that transfers acetylgalactosamine has been isolated and its gene structure revealed. Therefore, the present invention enables production of the enzyme or the like by genetic engineering, production of a sugar chain by the enzyme, and diagnosis of a disease based on the gene. The present invention has an amino acid sequence in which one or more amino acids are substituted or deleted in a specific amino acid sequence or the amino sequence, or one or more amino acids are inserted or added to the amino sequence. A protein having an activity of transferring N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) to glucuronic acid as a substrate and a nucleic acid encoding the protein are used.
