[PROBLEMS] To provide a method for producing nitrotoluene from toluene with high para selectivity using zeolite beta having various binders as a catalyst. Kind Code: A1 A nitration is performed under specific conditions with nitric acid without using sulfuric acid and acetic anhydride using a catalyst system comprising a zeolite beta catalyst, an organic / inorganic matrix, and a binder, so that the selectivity is 55 to 61%. Yields paranitrotoluene. |
