abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly exfoliate and remove foreign matters adhering and staying on screws, cylinders and inner walls of a die inside an extruder used for production of an olefin elastomer composition, etc. Provided is a method for cleaning an extruder, in which contamination of a product with foreign substances is significantly reduced. SOLUTION: A rubber, a thermoplastic resin and an additive are supplied to an extruder and melted and kneaded to produce an olefin elastomer composition, which has a Mooney viscosity (ML 1 + 4 100 ° C). A method for cleaning an extruder, comprising supplying an olefin-based copolymer rubber having a particle diameter of 30 to 350 into an extruder to remove foreign substances staying inside the extruder. Preferably, an oil-extended olefin-based copolymer rubber containing 20 to 150 parts by weight of a mineral oil-based softener per 100 parts by weight of the olefin-based copolymer rubber is used. |
