titleOfInvention Gene transfer to plants using Agrobacterium
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a means for introducing a foreign gene into an explant by Agrobacterium and regenerating the explant directly into a plant without passing through callus. A method for introducing a foreign gene into a plant using Agrobacterium, wherein the Agrobacterium carrying a vector into which the foreign gene is incorporated is attached to the surface of the shoot apical meristem of the plant. And a method for introducing a gene into a plant, which comprises a step of thereafter making a plurality of minute holes at a site where the Agrobacterium adheres.
