PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional reusable catalyst and a method for preparing the same on a single matrix of a support for performing a multi-component reaction in a single pot. Kind Code: A1 A chiral vicinal compound is obtained by successive and / or simultaneous reactions including an AD reaction of an olefin, N-oxidation and Heck coupling in the presence of a quina alkaloid compound both as it is and immobilized on a matrix support. A multifunctional catalyst comprising palladium, tungsten and osmium species useful for the synthesis of naldiol. Further, a method for preparing a vicinal diol by asymmetric dihydroxylation of an olefin in the presence of a quina alkaloid compound. Here, a reusable multifunctional catalyst is used as a heterogeneous catalyst instead of a soluble osmium catalyst. |
