abstract (57) [Summary] [Problem] To display an image in which an effect effect image is added to a multicolor image as an image having reality, and perform a game effect using the image having reality. In a translucent process, a GC reads out image data representing a character image and image data representing a translucent source image. Next, the GC creates a translucent image by translucent operation processing. The translucent image is an image as if a portion of the character image that overlapped the translucent source image was displayed through a transparent body or fluid. Then, the GC creates a combined image in which the translucent image is combined with the front of the character image, and displays the combined image on the LCD. Therefore, it is possible to display a realistic composite image.
