abstract (57) [Summary] [Constitution] General formula (I) Is polymerized to give 1,3- A method for producing a conductive polymer having a main chain having a π-electron conjugated structure, comprising a structural unit whose position is oxidized as a repeating unit. According to the production method of the present invention, a conductive polymer having a sulfonic acid group can be easily produced. Not only a homopolymer but also a copolymer can be easily produced by controlling the composition of the copolymer constituting the π-conjugated main chain skeleton. In addition, since the polymer has a sulfonic acid group, a polymer having a self-doping function and stable electric conductivity can be provided.
