abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a novel fluorene compound as a constituent material of an electroluminescent device and evaluate the device. SOLUTION: A fluorene compound represented by the following general formula (1) was synthesized and used as a constituent material of an electroluminescent device. In particular, it is a material useful as a host material for a host-guest type light-emitting layer, and an electroluminescent element having high luminous efficiency and long life was obtained.
