titleOfInvention Variable optical gain equalizer
abstract Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely change input light into output light having a desired spectrum, thereby achieving important gain equalization and aging of a path in an optical communication system. Make modifications easy. An optical circulator includes a combination of an optical circulator and a reflection-type filter transmission ratio variable device connected to an intermediate port thereof. The filter transmission ratio variable device is configured to split the input light into two lights at an arbitrary ratio and combine the split return light with the variable split ratio optical splitter 14 and the different optical filter means (disposed on both split output sides). First Optical filter 16 and the second optical filter 17), and mirror means 18 for reflecting the branched light and returning the reflected light to the input side. Light input from the input port of the optical circulator is adjusted in spectrum by controlling the branching ratio, and is output from the output port.
