PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielding material that can shield neutron rays and gamma rays at a high level, has low activation properties, has excellent heat resistance, and has good thermal neutron absorber and heavy metal dispersibility. To provide a material using a composition or a cured product as a raw material, including a method of preparing the material or a method of shielding radiation from a nuclear reactor facility or the like. SOLUTION: The radiation shielding material composition of the present invention comprises a curable resin raw material, a heavy metal having an atomic number of 22 or more, a compound containing a heavy metal having an atomic number of 22 or more, and a thermal neutron absorbing material. According to the radiation shielding composition of the present invention, an extremely low radiation shielding material exhibiting excellent shielding performance as a shielding material for both neutrons and gamma rays can be obtained. |
