titleOfInvention | A New Species of Rhodobacter |
abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide an industrially useful microorganism of the genus Rhodoctor which is useful for environmental purification such as wastewater treatment. SOLUTION: As a result of searching for new microorganisms from freshwater lakes, swamps, activated sludge, etc. in which the inhabitation of Rhodobacter microorganisms is expected to occur, various organic acids are selected from strains isolated from an activated sludge aeration tank of a food factory. And a new species of microorganism belonging to the genus Rhodobacter, which has excellent ability to assimilate sugars. Gluconicum (Rhodobacter glucon) icum) AS-3 strain was isolated. The AS-3 strain has no photosynthetic ability, does not produce colony pigment, has no motility, does not have C14: 0 and C17: 0 as bacterial fatty acids, but has C18: 0-30H, and has a carbon source of Acetic acid and succinic acid cannot be used, but have the property of using butyric acid, propionic acid, glucose and fructose as sole carbon sources. |
