abstract (57) Abstract: A polynitrile is obtained by ammoxidizing a carbocyclic compound or a heterocyclic compound having a plurality of organic substituents (organic compound having a polysubstituent) by a gas phase contact reaction with ammonia and an oxygen-containing gas. In a method for producing a compound, Provided is a method for suppressing a combustion reaction of a side reaction without impairing productivity, reducing raw material loss, and obtaining a target nitrile compound in a high yield. An unreacted poly-substituted organic compound and at least a part of an intermediate mononitrile compound are separated and recovered from a reaction gas discharged from a reactor, supplied to the reactor, and discharged from the reactor. The reaction is controlled so that the outflow amount of the mononitrile compound in the reaction gas falls within a specific range.
