abstract (57) [Summary] The object of the present invention is to maintain a stable state without condensation of silanol group-containing compounds progressing at a certain rate or more even when stored in an aqueous solution for a long period of time. It is to provide a silanol group-containing compound obtained. Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a silanol group-containing compound that can completely hydrolyze a compound obtained by the neutralization reaction without making the aqueous solution of the compound obtained by the neutralization reaction acidic. SOLUTION: The silanol group-containing compound represented by the general formula (1). (Wherein, R 1 is H or methyl, and R 2 has 1 to 1 carbon atoms. 8 linear or branched alkyl, or 6-1 carbon atoms 0 is an aromatic group, p is an integer of 1 to 6, and m is 0 <M ≦ 3, and n is 0 or 1. )
