titleOfInvention | Gene whose expression frequency changes before and after herbicide treatment, and method for screening a compound having herbicidal activity using the gene |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DNA for use in evaluating the presence or absence of a herbicidal activity of a test compound, the DNA of a plant whose expression frequency is changed by treatment with a herbicide, and the DNA of a test compound using the DNA. It is an object to provide a method for evaluating the presence or absence of herbicidal activity, and a method for screening a compound having herbicidal activity using the evaluation method. SOLUTION: As a result of comparing gene expression when a commercially available herbicide containing glyphosate as an active ingredient is sprayed on rice with gene expression when not treated as a control, the herbicide is administered to a rice plant. In this case, it was found that the expression frequency of a specific gene changed dramatically. By using the expression of the gene as an index, it became possible to evaluate the presence or absence of the herbicidal activity of the test compound and to screen for a compound having the herbicidal activity. |
