abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery excellent in high-temperature charging characteristics without lowering discharge capacity by adding specific magnesium oxide. SOLUTION: The nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery according to the present invention is characterized in that magnesium oxide is added to the nickel electrode and the concentration of calcium element contained in the magnesium oxide is regulated to 20 ppm or less.
