abstract (57) [Summary] The present invention significantly improves the convergence (fraying and flowering) of a cord of a filament monofilament exposed on an end face of a belt, and reduces a decrease in adhesion to rubber due to steam exposure. An object of the present invention is to provide a polyester cord for reinforcing a power transmission belt capable of obtaining a belt having good holding strength, high strength and fatigue resistance, and a method for producing the same. A polyester cord for reinforcing a power transmission belt according to the present invention is a polyester cord for reinforcing a power transmission belt having at least two or more adhesive layers on a fiber surface, wherein the polyester layer is an inner layer portion of the adhesive layer. The layer comprises an adhesive layer containing an aqueous urethane resin (A), a polyepoxide compound (B), a blocked polyisocyanate compound (C) and a rubber latex (D).
